EXPO ‘ Esther BOTT : Transformation of the everyday’ – Deutsches Goldschmiedehaus, Hanau (All) 28 Jan – 4 Avr 2010
The forms of everyday are those interesting Esther BOTT. The aspect of recycling plastic plays an important role for her : thus, a printed milk carton is developed into the necklace, « Milk. » Her most important materials are latex and silicone rubber in bright colors : « Chocolates » brooches, « Bottle Cap » rings, « Body-fold brooches » and « Gummy bears » bracelets all belong to the repertoire of plastic art, while amusing « Bath Objects » are cast in soft silicone rubber. Everyday trash such as plastic bags, fruit nets, or cable ties become alive through this skilled alienation, creating completely new associations for ‘jewelry consumers.’
