EXPO ‘Ramon Puig Cuyàs : Crossing Points’ – Galerie Spektrum, Munich (Germany) – 11 Mai-29 Juin 2013
Ramon Puig Cuyàs: Crossing Points. Works 1997-2013

The exhibition presents more than 30 pieces of jewellery produced over an extended period of time. Although the works from these years vary with regard to form and material, they are linked together via a common thread. The unifying concept is in the way the artist handles, examines and organizes the material. The construction of the pieces reflects experiences that are translated into works of art.
Using the technique of assemblage, the artist joins kaleidoscopic fragments of various objects and materials into fragile compositions. Thus, they create a fragmented vision of reality and of our own poetic universe.
The direct approach to the material, the exploration of its possibilities and inherentcharacteristics opens the door to the accidental and the unexpected. It also leads toflexibility and subjectivity in the artistic expression. The less defined the results are, the more room there is for interpretation. In this way, each piece has turned into a functioning model containing many possibilities: A work of art emerges that keeps projecting itself forward.
