EXPO ‘Ramon Puig Cuyàs : Crossing Points’ – Galerie Spektrum, Munich (Germany) – 11 Mai-29 Juin 2013

Ramon Puig Cuyàs: Crossing Points. Works 1997-2013

Ramon Puig Cuyàs: Crossing Points. Works 1997-2013 Artists: Ramon Puig Cuyàs Management: Jürgen Eickhoff & Marianne Schliwinski Place: Galerie Spektrum (Munich, Germany) 11-May-2013 - 29-Jun-2013 website: www.galerie-spektrum.de
The exhibition presents more than 30 pieces of jewellery produced over an extended period of time. Although the works from these years vary with regard to form and material, they are linked together via a common thread. The unifying concept is in the way the artist handles, examines and organizes the material. The construction of the pieces reflects experiences that are translated into works of art.
Using the technique of assemblage, the artist joins kaleidoscopic fragments of various objects and materials into fragile compositions. Thus, they create a fragmented vision of reality and of our own poetic universe.
The direct approach to the material, the exploration of its possibilities and inherentcharacteristics opens the door to the accidental and the unexpected. It also leads toflexibility and subjectivity in the artistic expression. The less defined the results are, the more room there is for interpretation. In this way, each piece has turned into a functioning model containing many possibilities: A work of art emerges that keeps projecting itself forward.

EXPO ‘FRAMED – by Ted Noten’ – Stedelijk Museum, s-Hertogenbosch (NL) – 25 Mai–20 Sept. 2013

Classé dans : Exposition/Exhibition,Hollande (NL),MUSEE,Ted NOTEN (NL) — bijoucontemporain @ 0:09

FRAMED – by Ted Noten

Ted Noten (Tegelen, 1956) is frequently seen as the enfant terrible of the Dutch jewellery world, but his innovative attitude has earned him considerable international respect too. He is acting as guest curator for the FRAMED exhibition, which will explore his own network of inspirations in conjunction with his own work.

Ted Noten: Framed Place: Stedelijk Museum ’s-Hertogenbosch ('s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) 25-May-2013 - 08-Sep-2013 website: www.sm-s.nl
The focus is on themes like greed, emptiness, beauty, mortality and intimacy. Ted Noten will string together a necklace of works by high-profile artists like Damien Hirst, Wim Delvoye and Marina Abramovic, texts by Marcel Duchamp and Charles Bukowski, jewellery by Elsa Schiaparelli and Otto Künzli, and a film sequence by Wim Wenders. Francis Bacon’s painting Fragment of a Crucifixion will be one of the highlights, while ethnographic objects like a decorated skull from Papua New Guinea, a tiny string of pearls and a gold dildo all feature too.

The exhibition ‘FRAMED by Ted Noten’ offers an insight into the designer’s intellectual and emotional world. The selection of his own work includes his famous Prada bag with gold pistol. His latest jewellery collection, ‘Seven Necessities’, and the interactive installation ‘Wanna Swap’ will also be shown in the Netherlands for the first time.

During the exhibition 'Framed by Ted Noten' in the new stedelijk museum in Den Bosch there you will have the oppotunity to swap your ring for a Miss Piggy in our Wanna Swap project! EXPO ‘EMBUDOS DEL ALMA’ – Amarantojoies, Barcelona (ES) – 21mai-31Juill. 2013

Allhough she is German by birth, Ursula Woerner spent 3/4 of her life living outside her own country. This changed her perception of her heritaged culture and origin and sharpend her vision and feeling for national identity. The collection of jewelry started in 2005 plays with some real german elements which is found in the traditional german jewelry the ‘Trachtenschmuck’ supplies inspiration. The idea of looking back at your roots without a sentimental feeling of ‘Heimweh’ and by means of transforming and using found objects the artist creates a delicate and playful new series of jewelry.

Natural elements such as forms of leaves, stones, animal figures, shapes of islands, bones, bacterias and microorganisms fused into a new series of jewelscalled ‘flora-sierend’.
By adding other materials, drilling holes, blackening the silver, setting stones and stringing beads the objects grow out of the natural world into abstact rings, broches, necklaces and earrings.
