Le Arti Orafe Jewellery School.
The school is organizing a meeting between alumni, from different generations and from all over the world, who have remained emotionally attached to the school and to Florence; it will include a “brain-storming” discussion and cultural exchanges through the stories of the participants’ professional experiences in different countries. The meeting will also be an opportunity to officially launch the creation of the « international network of exchange and collaboration » among LAO’s former students.
Preziosa Young is an international contest for young jewellery makers (under the age of 35). Preziosa Young has been organized by Le Arti Orafe Jewellery School & Academy in Florence since 2008. The competition does not have a predetermined theme. The artists for the exhibition are selected for their individual research and for the originality of their creations. In 2015 for the competition applied 120 artists from all over the world. The person responsible for the selection of artists for the exhibition was Prof. Maria Cristina Bergesio – curator of Young Preziosa, jewellery historian from Florence (Italy). For this year’s edition of contest she has chosen the following artists: Deok Sang Han (Republic of Korea), Jie Sun (Republic of China), Soyeon Lee (Republic of Korea), Tithi Kutchamuch (Thailand), Daniela Hedman (Sweden).
