« Flora Vagi’s multilayered brooches are organic and curvilinear, just the opposite of the original structured and bound books. Collecting old books, she removes the pages to create brooches inspired by marine life and floral forms.
“Intellectual Recycling” — Vagi enjoys knowing that these old books, once found on someone’s shelf, have gone from inhabiting a private space to a public one when worn on the body.
