à SCHMUCK 2016, le groupe « Dialogue Collective » proposait « By Royal Appointment » :

DIY, Installation, 2015. We have all probably worn a cardboard crown at some point in our childhood, and we all probably have the desire to be bestowed with a crown of regality on occasion. In the latest works by David Bielander this crown is accessible, camouflaged as the role-play headdress of the kindergartener within us. "Our perceptions are based on our conceptions of what is familiar. If a shift in the normal context of something occurs, it can trigger a shock to our understanding, forcing us to examine the object in a manner completely new to us. Things don’t remain the things we perceive at first glimpse. The Cardboard works materialize the ambiguity, the multifaceted nature of things. Cardboard becomes gold, gold becomes cardboard Cardboard tiaras and crowns become precious jewelry." Jewelry in a New Iron Age by 60 International Artists

Velvet da Vinci San Francisco exhibition
March 1 – April 14, 2013
Artists’ reception Friday, March 1, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m.

FERROUS, an exhibition of jewelry using iron, steel, and steel alloys. Although the use of iron dates back more than two thousand years, this humble material is more commonly used for agriculture and industrial purposes than adornment. A significant exception is the Berlin Iron Jewelry of the early 19th century. The Prussian Royal family funded the uprising against Napoleon by encouraging wealthy citizens to exchange their precious gold and silver for intricately fabricated iron jewelry
.Intricacy is just one aspect the 60 artists of FERROUS explore with this versatile material. Known for its strength and lightness, the steel and iron jewelry of FERROUS is both rusty and shiny, sheet and wire, bejeweled and modest. The exhibition will take place simultaneously at Velvet da Vinci Gallery in San Francisco and as a virtual exhibition at crafthaus online. In May FERROUS will travel to 18Karat Gallery in Toronto, Canada as part of The Society of North American Goldsmith’s annual conference.

SCHMUCK 2011- 'Dialogue Collective X'- Munich (DE) - 18-20 mars 2011 dans Allemagne (DE)

Dialogue Collective is formed by a London based group of artists with a background in jewellery and silversmithing. The Collective has presented nine events to date which have been the catalyst for many artist-jewellers to develop new ways of thinking through debate and practise.
A changing group of artists participate in each event, as well as invited guests, all of whom have a connection to London Metropolitan University aka The Cass.
The remit is to develop different and interesting ways to create and show jewellery and silversmithing through making and discussion and to develop ways to bring contemporary jewellery and objects to a wider audience. Previous exhibitions have been inspired by Delia Smith’s classic book “Complete Cookery Course” (Dialogue 3), have been exhibited on a Route Master bus (Dialogue 5) and in a working foundry in Munich at Schmuck 2010 (Dialogue 8).
