The central exhibition titled « Art + Jewel: Intersecting Spaces » is hosted by the Benaki Museum of Piraeus Str. and has exclusivity
in participation of 48 selected artists of contemporary jewelry from Greece and abroad. Also this year, the important German artist Peter Bauhuis honors the event as a guest and exhibits his work in the central exhibition area.

Nomen Nescio, from latin nomen-name and nescio-I don’t know, is an installation of 300 brooches, all made out of the same material – discarded tin cans.
It is the nameless and forgotten crowd that the jewellery artist Carla Movia addresses with her work, a reflection on stereotypes and prejudice.
100 trashed tin cans transformed into jewellery state that redemption is a possibility.
They are meant as a symbol of hope, the invisible and the rejected placed on the body and worn with pride to be noticed.
In this spirit, one series of brooches supports Oxfam Italia’s campaign Stand as One.
A percentage of the sales will be donated to give help and protection to the millions of people forced to flee conflict, disaster and poverty.

Carla Movia (born in 1989 in Trieste, Italy) is a contemporary jewellery maker currently based in Florence. She holds a BFA (2014) and completing an MFA in Contemporary Jewellery and Body Ornament from Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School in Florence tutored by Dutch artists Ruudt Peters and Lucy Sarneel.

The SCHMUCK is an international exhibition that has been taking place in Munich for more than 50 years. It combines works of established artists and promising newcomers in the area of contemporary jewellery design and is the meeting place for collectors, jewellery lovers and museum curators from Germany and abroad. Organized as a worldwide contest, the works are chosen by an internationally renowned curator each year, this time by Eva Eisler, professor at the Prague Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design (AAAD). “Presenting works at the SCHMUCK is an honor for any jewellery designer“, says Dieter Dohr, Management Board Chairman of the GHM Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen mbH. That is also why this time, more than 600 gold smiths and jewellery designers from Germany and abroad applied for the special show. In spring 2015, contributions by 63 artists from 21 countries will finally be on display. This time, Karel Novak from the Czech Republic will be honored as the classic of modern art. Highlight of the SCHMUCK will be the awarding of the Herbert-Hofmann-prizes on Saturday, 14 March 2015 at 5 pm on stage in hall B1. On this day, a jury will select the three best works of the SCHMUCK. Each year, a number of accompanying events group around the special show at the Internationale Handwerksmesse in Munich galleries, museums and cultural institutes.

Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School proudly presents Touch, Graduation Show 2014.

Official Opening with cocktail and DJ set Thursday, June 19, 6pm.

The exhibition will remain open until Thursday, June 26, from 6 pm to 9 pm.

An art jewellery exhibition that is the culmination of this year’s graduate students.

For this occasion, twelve students have based their development on personal experiences. Individual matters discuss universal subjects; in correlation to the body as a form of function and space. As a result, each body of work materializes these personalities. Hands spoke in replacement of words. While unspoken, the act of making became the way of realization. Touch is an invitation to feel. The students will be present during the whole duration of the show to talk about their work.

if i was a tree i would be a grape, i choose the grape wood because of his adjectives, fragile, cave and jaded because of this attributes i chose to leave the wood as it is and, by nitting, i made a structure that holds it.
