INVISIBLE WALL  at  3stations

#21

Opening: Wednesday 24th February 6 pm

on Facebook

The project Invisible Wall is created by a group of artists from different countries. Each artist tells their own Invisible-story, sharing the invisible-space of their own experiences and pushing the boundaries of the limitation of thought; creating a remarkable free territory, with no border, no division and no rules.

EXPO ‘Forgotten Stones / Vergessene Steine’ – Eva Maisch’s Gallery, Würzburg (DE) – 18 Avril-23 Mai 2015

Forgotten Stones – Art Jewelry Exhibition at Eva Maisch’s Gallery

neue Ausstellung « Vergessene Steine » wird am Samstag, den 18. April eröffnet.

 Eva Maisch gallery

Wir präsentieren Arbeiten von  Adam & Stoffel, Michael Becker, Rudolf Bott, Petr Dvorak, Annette Ehinger, Dominique Labordery, Deborah Rudolph, Nils Schmalenbach und Pia Sommerlad.

Lustrous and colorful, hard and imperishable: stones have piqued people’s interest since the early days of human history, when hunters and gatherers, our early ancestors, interpreted them as gifts from the gods and attributed healing and protective powers to them – and used them as jewelry. Over the course of cultural history, people have changed their notions and interpretations of them. Precious stones appeared in legends and fairy tales, and were incorporated in the crowns of aristocrats and the jewelry of wealthy citizens. They became status symbols, an economic factor and the subject of scientific research. In our day and age, precious stones continue to play an important role as jewelry elements or investments. In contrast to conventional gem-studded jewelry, which features gemstones in classical cuts and arranged in repetitive patterns, contemporary jewelry artists are using their own individual techniques to restore the magic of gemstones.

Some of the Forgotten Stones showcased at Eva Maisch’s gallery radiate an almost weightless aura, others display a heavy, solid quality, and others again surprise the beholder with unusually imaginative cuts or their natural crystal structure. They stimulate our senses with finely engraved textures or imposing cuboidal shapes. Combined with matte gold, blackened silver or stainless steel, or spotlighted without any setting at all, they provide impressive reifications of creative freedom and individuality. With her current exhibition, the Würzburg-based gallerist and goldsmith provides insights into the work of eminent designers. They developed their individual styles while studying at art academies and universities, and have been honored with many international awards. At 7:30 p.m. on April 28 and 29, 2015, there will also be a concert with the singer and songwriter Hubert Treml (ArtAurea)

EXPO ‘Hardware Artware’ – Atta Gallery, Bangkok (Thailand) – 2 mai-2 juin 2013

Hardware Artware

Hardware Artware-

“Little fragments, links and colors which are connected to each other points towards one direction. Their reason is not always visible at first sight, but by using them and by taking a deeper look under their surfaces, they open up another world…a world full of new information that connects people together.
Hardware – Artware is an intensive and compact connection full of tension.”
The group of 5 jewelers started to work together one and a half years ago in search for alternative ways of display for contemporary jewelry. Their aim is to display their jewelry pieces in new and unexpected ways.

Deborah Rudolph ON THE ROCKS !

Classé dans : COUP DE COEUR,Deborah RUDOLPH (DE),IDAR-OBERSTEIN (DE),pierre / stone — bijoucontemporain @ 12:58

Deborah Rudolph or the « spirit of stone »

c’est …. SOMPTUEUX !

« Stones fascinate me; they are thousands of years old, yet at the same time limited. They exist in all kinds of colours and shapes.
No two stones are the same. In my work I concentrate on preserving the primary character of each stone. I focus on the shape and the structure - the aspects unique to each stone. It is these elements that make it possible for every piece of jewellery to have its own individual character and depth, regardless of similarity in form. Under this credo I develop single pieces and small series. »

On her exhibition at Galerie Marzee 4 March until 16 May 2012
« I like the sensitive connection between humans and stones. I find it interesting that we can hang out in front of a stone for hours, just to look at it. I like the way we carry them around like treasures. I find it interesting that we trust in stones so much that we build our houses and walls with them. I like stone collages that occur unintentionally. I like the way we set stones in streets. I like how stones help us to remember, as memorials or gravestones. I like the freedom in stones and the danger, such as when someone tries to reach the top of a mountain. I like their roughness and their fragility.«   Deborah Rudolph

EXPO ‘The Year was 2006′ – Studio2017, Waterloo NSW (AU) – 19-30 Juin 2012

‘THE YEAR WAS 2006

An exhibition of 100 jewellery pieces made in 2006

The Year Was 2006 Waterloo Australia exhibitions unique custom jewelry custom handmade jewellery exhibitions

2006. It was a common year that started on a Sunday. John Howard was PM and Pluto was no longer classified as a planet. It is often bandied about that art is a reflection of our society; intrigued, we set out to find what 2006 might have looked like in terms of contemporary jewellery. 100 jewellers from across the globe have been invited to present one piece of jewellery they made 6 years ago. Presented as a salon hang, this exhibition will showcase an incredibly diverse array of jewellery and will give an overall snapshot of what these jewellers were thinking, making and the materials they were using all those years ago in 2006.

Klassiker der Schmuck 2012
Jens Rüdiger Lorenzen, Deutschland

This year there will be a retrospective exhibition of the work of a « Modern Classic » designer. In 2012 the chosen designer is the German goldsmith Jens Rüdiger Lorenzen. Together with Francesco Pavan, Lorenzen was the first goldsmith to be awarded the Herbert Hofmann Prize, back in 1973. The award presentation ceremony, which this year is being held on Saturday, 17 March 2012, is always one of the highlights at SCHMUCK. Lorenzen, who was born in 1942 in Hagen, Westphalia, taught at the « Staatliche Zeichenakadamie » in Hanau from 1974 to 1985, while also acting as a visiting lecturer at the « Hochschule für Gestaltung » in Pforzheim, at which college he then, in 1985, took up an appointment as a professor. He continued to teach there in the jewellery design department until retiring in 2008.

“Schmuck-Show 2012” is a jewellery presentation with professional models, set in an exceptional light and sound design. With the cooperation of several artists who exhibit their works at different places in Munich during these ‘Jewellery Days’, on the evening before the start of the trade fair jewellery is being presented directly on the body. The jewellery stirs emotions and prompts diverse conversations. At the bar, artists, jewellery lovers and laymen meet; there is room for an animated exchange. The project has been initiated by Olga Zobel Biro
