During SCHMUCK 2016 : EXPO ‘FABRIZIO TRIDENTI – All there is’ – Maurer Zilioli, Munich (DE) – 24-28 Fevr. 2016

Fabrizio Tridenti – All there is

Maurer Zilioli – Contemporary Arts guest at kunstbüro reillplast

Aperitivo: Friday, 26 February, 5 p.m.
Opening: 24 February 2016, 7 p.m.

"All there is" by Fabrizio Tridenti 24-28Feb2016 (Bundling No. 3 ring, 2010 – Brass, acrylic paint)

Fabrizio Tridenti represents a sculpturally oriented aesthetic language in jewellery. Looking
for inspiration in industrial and technological surroundings his work demonstrates a complex combination of the typical mediterranean consciousness of antique history and presence with modern times and contemporary necessities. He „translates“ this passage into affascinating objects and abstract constructivist ornaments

SCHMUCK 2013 – Munich (DE) – PROGRAMME – 6-12 Mars 2013

SCHMUCK is an international jewellery competition which is staged every year in March as part of the Internationale Handwerksmesse. For over fifty years SCHMUCK has been the jewellery sector´s premier exhibition. From among the many applications received from designers to exhibit in SCHMUCK, a single juror makes his or her own personal selection of those whose work will be presented. This juror is generally an international curator and expert in contemporary jewellery design. In 2006 the Danner Foundation took over as patron of the exhibition. The organiser is the Handwerkskammer für München und Oberbayern (Chamber of Trades and Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria), and the venue host is the Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen mbH.

Organized by the Verein zur Förderung des Handwerks e.V.
Willy Brandt Allee 1, 81829 München, Germany

Warwick Freeman , New Zeland
Each year at this special exhibition one designer is honoured in a retrospective called « Classic of the Modern ». This time it´s the turn of New Zealand designer Warwick Freeman. His pieces are characterised by a reduced, very clear idiom and a particular reference to natural forms.

EXPO ‘The Beauty Chase’ – Espace le Carré, Lille (FR) – 16 Nov. 2012-13 janv. 2013

The Beauty Chase – Parcours esthétiques du bijou contemporain

Commissariat : Valeria Accornero
The_beauty_chase - Lille (FR) - nov 2012 - X
The Beauty Chase – Parcours esthétiques du bijou contemporain.

« Colour plays a very important part in your jewellery and it is often bold and bright. Would you consider this a signature style or do see yourself moving towards a different palette in the future?
The palette relates directly to street signage but I do feel free to incorporate other colours and don’t feel inhibited by it.
What ignited your interest in signs? Was it marked by a particular experience or moment?
Some of the urban landscape in Australia seems particularly contrived, like a theatre set. A mixture of international influences all mixed up, often without connecting to the environment. My attention is drawn to signs as ‘street furniture’ if you like, ‘props’. «

Linda Hughes – Necklace

« In her new body of work, contemporary jeweller Linda Hughes explores the ‘stripe’, historically favoured as a metonym for danger, exclusion and as a device to attract attention. Hazard signage, ubiquitous in the urban landscape, changes when placed on the body as jewellery. In this exhibition, Hughes applies the visual language of the stripe to the sculptural form of the wearable. Displayed against as a series of graphic backdrops, the work explores the tension between body and environment, critiquing the complex theatre of public space. »

Linda Hughesnecklace  – « It’s got legs » exhibition

« Shared Zone, is both the culmination of Linda Hughes master’s research and her first solo exhibition.
Hughes utilises the familiar urban language of invisible everyday objects such as road signs, posts and hazard markings. Juxtaposing these symbols on the body she uses them to define space and create landscape. Her work invites the wearer to become a part of the “theater of the wearable” that arises when the brooches, neckpieces and bangles are placed so as to interact and create their roles – transforming the body into a stage. »

« Benita Dekel, a graduate of the Department of Jewelry Design at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design (Israël), developed a series of jewelry pieces that combine silver with concrete. The results of the combination of concrete, which we usually associate with heavy, industrial construction, and delicate constructions in silver is that despite being made of concrete the pieces do not appear heavy. The shapes of the pieces, which are very familiar, almost as though they have been taken from various construction sites, manage to surprise both in their shape and new function«

EXPO ‘Gioielli d’Italia’ – Pensieri Preziosi 2011 – Oratorio di San Rocco, Padova (IT) – 19 nov.2011-22 Janv. 2012

http://facileblog.it/files/15/files/2011/11/pensieri-preziosi.jpg

http://www.aboutjewellery.it/public/img/articoli/original/immagine-1-5.png

http://behance.vo.llnwd.net/profiles19/269584/projects/859300/717a5bb40650fa874882d14dc71eab22.jpg

(ConessoMagazine)

13e Erfurter Schmuck symposium

Since 1984  the  Schmucksymposium in Erfurt takes place every two years in the German city of Erfurt, with the aim of supporting the creative work of jewellery artists. A group of artists invited for this occasion and Volker Atrops, artist in residence at Erfurt in 2009, have worked together in July 2010 for the preparation of a symposium on the theme of Martin Luther’s journey to Italy between 1510 and 1511. This journey was the  turning point in the life of the great theologian who initiated the Reformation and had a huge impact across the continent, not only on the  political history but also on social relations and costume.
The radical questioning of decoration (the churches, but not only ..), the reference to a vision of monastic life (with the condemnation of ornament), the establishment of principles which then unexpectedly became the foundations of capitalist ethics are all themes that are of great interest to art and  art jewellery.
