« Le syndrome de la glace à l’eau »
« Plusieurs signes distinctifs déterminent l’exploration collective de ces onze jeunes orfèvres frappées par une curieuse toquade, le syndrome de la glace à l’eau. Cette fredaine, symptomatique des proverbiales crises du mois d’octobre, se manifeste comme un sursaut estival dans leur création. Les jeunes femmes se découvrent alors un appétit vorace pour la fraicheur balnéaire.
Vous les reconnaîtrez comme suit : Elle signe, hymne des parures gourmandes,
Dégoulinantes des fraîcheur, pop, psychédéliques, frondes de couleur, jeux des transparences à consommer sans modération…. »

à la Fondation Suisse – Pavillon Le Corbusier , une exposition à deux temps :

* Design Bijou suisse Du 3 au 27 octobre 2013. Tout d’abord, grande première en France, un éventail des artistes les plus représentatifs du bijou suisse qui parraineront la jeune génération.

* Puis, la HEAD–Genève (Haute Ecole d’art et Design) prendra le relais, selon une scénographie des étudiants du master Design/espaces et Communication pour montrer les créations en Bijou et accessoires issues de l’école.

 

Du 3 au 27 octobre 2013

Le bijou contemporain suisse sera présenté en octobre à la Fondation Suisse. Cet évènement rassemblera, dans le pavillon Le Corbusier, quinze maîtres du bijou suisse et quinze designers de la nouvelle génération qui exposeront sous leur parrainage.

La HEAD – Genève au Pavillon Le Corbusier

en novembre, la Haute Ecole d’art et Design de Genève prendra le relais. Les étudiant(e)s du master Design /

espaces et Communication créeront une scénographie autour des créations en Design Bijou et accessoires issues de l’école. A cette occasion, elles concevront un bijou en hommage à Charlotte Perriand et à Le Corbusier.

Ros Millar grew up in Bangor, Northern Ireland and graduated from Sheffield, with a degree in Metalwork and Jewellery in 2009.

Ros Millar’s work comprises a range of organically inspired gold and silver jewellery focusing mainly on rings and neckpieces. In her exploration of materials and colours she uses processes such as cuttlebone casting and photo-etching. Her collection is to be enjoyed on and off the body allowing the wearer to grow and develop an appreciation of the true beauty and subtle complexities inherent within her work.

Ros Millar first exploited her passion for Jewellery while studying for a Foundation Degree in Art and Design at Ulster University in Belfast. Since graduating from Sheffield Hallam University in June 2009 with a BA(Hons) in Metalwork and Jewellery her excellence in design has been awarded, and her work has attracted interest from around the industry. She is now based in London.

« Following a fascination, personal impressions and emotions, and translate them into tangible forms. For me it is important not to merely copy already existing forms, but instead to portray my own perceptions as they are through my eyes.
While working with textiles I create new possibilities within my working process. Qualities like elasticity and translucence begin to emerge and play an important role in my work. Voluptuous shapes come to life through colour and filling, whose soft curves remind me of cherry-blossoms. The material hold an innumerable number of small pearls tightly together like a warm embrace. The forms and the sensibility of the material evoke emotions in the viewer and give the pieces sensuality and a sense of life.
