SECOND EDITION OF TRESORS, AN EXHIBITION OF CATALAN CONTEMPORARY JEWELRY.
TRESORS is a creative activity in constant evolution which aims at highlighting formal and personal individuality. It is where the concept of “content” takes up all of its meaning and importance.
Starts a dialogue between the creator, the wearer and the spectator, which initiates a symbolic communication on all of what entails from the artists’ creation and interpretation.
Let’s open up to a new vision of the jewelry, that goes beyond its ornamental property.

De temps en temps je reprends ma série «virus de la comparaison» …. la plupart du temps «pur hasard» ou ce que j’appelle «air du temps», parfois, souvent je crois, pure « ignorance culturelle » (de l’histoire du bijou) de la part de jeunes qui démarrent, et parfois … finalement assez rarement, on préférera ne pas parler de la vilaine «copie» …….. juste d’un «rapprochement visuel» !

Rosa Nogués: (R)evolution
In 1859 the English naturalist Charles Darwin published the book “On the Origin of Species”. He introduced the scientific theory that “it is not the strongest of the species, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change”.
Following his theory, my work becomes an unlimited process in constant progress and adaptation as a result of a desire of change.  A “Butterfly effect” that will not stop because all in life is intrinsically related. Butterflies show that beauty cannot only be found in their morphology or colours but even in the attitude that they adopt in every transformation.

at the Museo de la Evolución Humana (Museum of Human Evolution) in Burgos.

« Joya – la inspiracion en el pasado » (Bijou – l’ inspiration dans le passé) au Musée de l’Evolution Humaine de Burgos en Espagne (Museo de la Evolución Humana). L’exposition sera visible jusqu’en Septembre 2016 .

La podéis visitar en la zona de talleres del MEH hasta el 2 de octubre con entrada libre. Contiene diseños de 30 joyeros de todo el mundo que se han inspirado en algún aspecto de la Prehistoria. No os la perdáis!!

La muestra, que reúne diseños de 30 joyeros de once países distintos, entiende la joyería como parte de nuestra historia cultural y se podrá ver hasta octubre de forma gratuita en la Sala de Talleres del MEH El Museo de la Evolución Humana (MEH), ha presentado la exposición ‘Joya. La inspiración en el pasado’, que se podrá ver gratuitamente en la Sala de talleres (planta -1) del MEH hasta el próximo2 de octubre. Este proyecto, comisariado por Sara Serna, reúne trabajos de una treintena de joyeros de todo el mundo que entienden la joyería como parte de nuestra historia cultural y que, inspirados en la Prehistoria y utilizando diferentes técnicas y materiales, pretenden conmover al visitante ensalzando la joya como un elemento conceptual, superando el valor ornamental de las mismas. La exposición, puesta en marcha por la Consejería de Cultura y Turismo en el MEH, contiene piezas de 30 joyeros de once países distintos. Así, diseñadores de España, Reino Unido, Argentina, Grecia, Venezuela, Italia, Noruega, República de Corea, Bélgica, Portugal o Francia exhiben diversas técnicas innovadoras, materiales, formas y texturas en joyas artísticas con una inspiración y una investigación prehistórica, con el fin de conmover al asistente y buscar una reacción en la expresión de las piezas.

* el MEH realizará el taller ‘Pequejoyeros’ para conocer qué es una joya y cuándo nuestros antepasados comenzaron a fabricarlas. Esta actividad, en la que los participantes fabricarán sus propias joyas, se desarrollará los días 27, 28 y 29 de julio, de 11 a 12.15 horas, para niños y niñas de entre 4 y 7 años y los mismos días para menores de de 8 a 12 años de 12.30 a 13.45 horas.

* El MEH organizará la conferencia ‘La joya, más allá de la belleza’, por parte de Sara Serna, comisaria de la exposición, quien dará a conocer el objetivo y resultados de esta muestra, dando a conocer cómo todo el proceso creativo de la joyería actual lleva detrás una investigación, una innovación y un estudio que, en este caso, nos remite a nuestro pasado más remoto. La charla será el jueves, 22 de septiembre, en el Salón de Actos del MEH. La ponente invitará a reflexionar sobre las joyas en relación con materiales y utensilios prehistóricos que se asemejan en formas y texturas a obras contemporáneas.

Friday 23 October 2015: opening ceremony and Prize awarding Master Prize and Young Talent Prize and Mons 2015 Prize At the Grand Hall of the « Anciens Abattoirs » of Mons Exhibition from 24 October 2015 until 10 January 2016

 

L’objet d’art actuel, en tant que trace du temps, reflète l’évolution de notre société avec talent et ingéniosité. Aujourd’hui, plus que jamais, le secteur des art appliqués tient une place de choix sur la scène artistique contemporaine, ce que ne contredira pas la troisième triennale du Prix européen des Arts appliqués qui propose les créations de pas moins de 78 créateurs venant de 18 pays d’Europe. Tous, sans exception, apportent une matière, une forme, une couleur, une âme à leur œuvre. Qu’il s’agisse d’arts appliqués à vocation utilitaire ou d’expression libre, les créations ici exposées détruisent les barrières entre les catégories et démontrent tout le talent, la créativité, l’innovation et l’ingéniosité nécessaire à leur élaboration. C’est dans le cadre de «Mons, Capitale européenne de la Cultureen 2015» que cette troisième édition du Prix européen des Arts appliqués vient apporter sa touche contemporaine aux différents domaines de création,qu’ils soient céramique, verre, bijou, mobilier, textile, objets de décorationou encore stylisme…

 

Trois prix sont décernés par un jury d’experts :  le Prix des Maîtres d’art (prix de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles),le Prix Jeune Talent (prix du WCC-Europe) et le Prix Mons 2015.

Vanity is a theme as old as the existence of Art itself. “Remember you will die” whispered the slave to the Roman General during the triumphs. Nowadays, this superstition which became obsession cannot be hidden. Her rebirth in the Contemporary Art is such that Vanity has become true fashion or a lifestyle. “Vanitas vanitatum, omnia vanitas”. How better than the current age of technology and overconsumption to update this adage? In this month of the dead, Omnia Vanitas proposes a stop in space-time, a time for reflexion to ask themselves the right questions once again.
On this occasion, the WCC-BF and the Koma Gallery exposed 62 artists from Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, France, Italy, Portugal, Poland, Finland and Estonia. In their own way, each of them present their personal interpretation of death and Vanity. As in the exhibition of the European Price for Applied Arts, the artworks will be seen with all the contemplation and the reflexion it requires. In its own way, Omnia will propose to visitors a more intimate perspective on our relationship with life and death.
