Jose Marin: Spotlight  – Mobilia Gallery

Jose Marin is a talented metalsmith from Spain; he chooses to work in titanium, the element discovered in Cornwall, England and named after the Titans of Greek mythology. He incorporates precious and semi-precious stones set in an element that is extremely difficult to work with. Marin is intrigued with the fact that titanium is found in almost all living things: water, soils and rocks.

Jose Marin: Spotlight - Mobilia Gallery (Cambridge, United States) 18-May-2013 - 22-Jun-2013 website: www.mobilia-gallery.com

« When I choose a material it is always with the idea of transforming it into a magical object. At this time I have opted for Titanium, a unique metal. Its hardness and toughness brings the challenge of making jewels by hand. Inspired by botanicals, and combining Titanium with gold, silver and semi-precious stones, I enjoy exploring new directions for contemporary jewelry with all the colors that nature provides. »Jose Marin

 Asagi Maeda : New Work

« My jewelry is about all the imagination in my mind. It is full of images of an overwhelming existence of an inner world that is everywhere and belongs to everyone but that not everyone can see. People who live in apartments, the inside of the ocean, the story in a daydream, etc. Each thing is covered by a surface veil, but underneath the surface, it has a real, deep and infinite existence.
The mind expands eternally inside of even a small body. That is my message. My imagination (internal) becomes jewelry (external) and when it’s worn (on the surface), a person feels it (beneath the surface) and this feeling comes out as a beautiful expression to the world. »

EXPO ‘Georg Dobler & Margit Jaschke new jewelry’ – Mobilia gallery (USA) – 12 mars-24 avril 2010

Georg Dobler & Margit Jaschke : New Jewelry

« The jewellery of Margit Jäschke exemplifies different, mutually inspiring artistic genres. Combining materials of different “value” from gold and silver to papier-maché, corals, rubber and glass, Margit Jäschke’s jewellery coalesces to ornamental pieces bearing an archaic touch or strangely symbolic works that are all governed by the ideal of “veracity”. With an eye for the detail, sensuous poetry and smiling irony, Margit Jäschke creates jewellery that tends to surprise, attracting attention and unfolding into fantastic idiosyncrasy »

Georg Dobler  - »Stag Beetle-shadow » brooch

« Georg Dobler … is a designer of wearable objects of an experimental character. In all his work one can see signs of his reflections on nature, art, and design. With great persistence he constantly examines these three components, the ways that they interconnect, and also their autonomy from one another, tending sometimes more towards the one pole or to the other, and occasionally emphasizing a point in a highly provocative way. Apart from a sheer delight in experimentation, he has always succeeded in expressing his unconfined pleasure in creating beautiful items of jewelry. » (Eva Maria Hoyer, Georg Dobler: Schmuck 1980-2000)
