Výstava Materialita Bytí, v kaplnke sv.Jána evanjelistu vo Frantikanskom kostole, ul. Frantiskanska 2, Bratislava; dnes a zítra od 13:00-17:00

 Kristýna Spanihelova studied under the guidance of professor Karol Weisslechner at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in the atelier of Metal and Jewellery. She took part in academic internship programmes in the jewellery atelier at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (CZ) and studied design at the Academy in Ljubljana (SLO). Her works not only received various prizes (design competition Rings in Water 2007, Slovak jewellery competition Slovenský šperk 2005,2006…) but are on display in her home country and abroad as well. Kristýna presents a collection of bone jewellery from the cycle Život [i.e. Life] ANIMA. In her series of jewellery Kristýna primarily deals with the growth and development of feminine nature and principle. Anima combines in itself the deeper and rationally imperceptible mystery of life. Jewellery from the cycle Life ANIMA are made of bleached bones which complement the carved-out silver lace work, synthetic pearls, gold foil, pyrites, coral and beads.

Andrea Janosik, Slovaquian, is a graduate from Parsons School of Design & Eugene Lange College, New York, with a BA/BFA in product design/metals and creative writing. After graduating, she continued her education at the New York Studio School of Painting and Sculpture and the Lern Ort Studio, and later at the School of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf, Germany. Ms. Janosik has exhibited at “SOFA” in both New York and Chicago, and many other galleries And museums in the US and Germany. In 2008 she exhibited in a juried craft show at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC.

 » Andrea Janosik has become a specialist in working with leather. Using a variety of leathers, including cords and flat pieces, she created very sculptural pieces. Many pieces are made rolling the leather into shapes, such as the cones in the necklace above, or other techniques of folding or bunching the leather. Her work is very laborious as she spends hours precisely cutting and shaping the leather pieces. »

Projet Européen «Quand la pierre brute devient bijou !» 2009

Cet article pour exprimer toute mon admiration -et mon encouragement!- à ces jeunes et à leurs créations qui sont « notre futur » !

Le projet « Quand la pierre brute devient bijou ! » est soutenu par l’Union Européenne, à travers le programme Comenius. 8 écoles de bijouterie en Europe sont partenaires de ce projet pour engager leurs lycéens à un travail européen de prospection de minéraux ou matériaux bruts, de création de bijoux à partir de ces éléments, de rédaction de chroniques dans le journal lycéen Le Mur et sur les sites web. Une exposition collective itinérante présente chaque année les recherches et les créations de ce projet.

L’exposition est itinérante à travers l’Europe, et la première présentation a lieu au musée de la Cité de l’Or de Saint-Amand Montrond. Les pièces seront ensuite exposées en Belgique (Namur et Anvers, Février 2009), au Portugal (Porto, mars 2009), en Slovaquie (Kremnica, avril 2009), en Lettonie (Liepaja, mai 2009) et en Grèce (Thessalonique, juin 2009).

Pour la création de ces bijoux, les lycéens de chaque école ont prospecté des matériaux bruts dans leur propre pays : 
Les lycéens français ont travaillé sur des silex prospectés lors d’une expédition minéralogique en canoë sur des îles au bord de la Loire.
Les lycéens belges d’Anvers ont travaillé sur des diamants bruts, et ceux de Namur sont allés dans une mine de marbre noir à Mazy en Wallonie.
Les lycéens du Portugal ont travaillé sur l’ardoise prospectée dans la Serra de Valongo,
ceux d’Italie dans les carrières d’ardoise de Gênes.
Les lycéens de Lettonie ont ramassé des morceaux d’ambre sur les plages de la mer baltique,
ceux de Slovaquie ont travaillé sur des quartz recherchés dans leur région de Kremnica.
Les lycéens grecs de Thessalonique ont prospecté des morceaux de marbre blanc sur les sites de Kavala et Thassos.
