There is always a reason to make a ring but I can also make a ring without a reason, I can make a ring without having an idea. I can have the same ring idea twice but it will be a different ring. I am always curious about the next ring, a ring is like a chair, rings like company.
Established in Wellington, New Zealand for some years now, Karl Fritsch constantly reinvents himself, refining his poetry, sharpening his critical thinking and affirming his expressiveness.

Per l’indovinato gioco di luce, forme e colore. L’artista accosta infatti, con armonica capacità compositiva, la forma geometrica e decisa dell’anello alla morbidezza della parte decorativa superiore, dove un equilibrato insieme di elementi evocano il fruscio di foglie o la morbidezza dei petali di un fiore. Per un efficace “utilizzo” del colore bianco che diviene medium sapiente di leggera bellezza.

Per la straordinaria eleganza data dalla purezza delle forme e dalla nitidezza delle superfici. L’intensa energia, forza e sicurezza che traspaiono con evidenza dall’insieme compositivo, non confliggono con la levità dei moduli scelti ma ne accentuano gli esiti raffinati.

Il n’y a « que » ses bijoux pour parler de lui ! rien sur sa page Facebook, rien sur sa page Pinterest, aucun site web, aucun bla bla …. mais QUELS BIJOUX !!!

 

et …. siiii ! je viens de trouver ! incroyable ! il est dentiste, et en même temps crée ses bijoux dans son atelier, à
Badajoz. voici des extraits de son interview dans la revue dentistaSiglo21 (pages  40 à 45 du fichier pdf)

« P. ¿Cuáles son los materiales que emplea habitualmente?
R. Aunque el oro y la plata siguen siendo los pilares sobre los que se basa la joyería contemporánea, casi cualquier material puede ayudarnos a conseguir una obra armoniosa y con fuerza. Particularmente me gusta mucho el acero, aunque es más complejo de trabajar. Además, un mismo material tratado con distintas técnicas y acabados es capaz de transmitirnos sensaciones muy diferentes.

P. Sus creaciones actuales se pueden ver a través de Facebook. ¿Qué acogida están teniendo?

R. Nunca había formado parte de Facebook, pero un día hablando con una persona  me animó a poner fotos de las obras que hacia para conocer la opinion de otras personas, y me llevé la sorpresa de ver como profesionales de distintos lugares del mundo, a los que yo admiraba por sus obras tras haberles leído en libros o ver su trayectoria a través de Internet, me animaban a seguir trabajando. Para mí era un halago cada vez que recibía un mensaje de ellos

P. ¿Están a la venta?

R. Nunca me planteé vender ninguna de mis joyas pues al ser una afición y no tener que vivir de ellas consigo la libertad de estar en una constante experimentación de materiales y técnicas … pero ¿quién sabe?

P. Realmente sus joyas son escultóricas. ¿Las concibe para ser llevadas o más como objeto de contemplación?

R.Mi gusto por las cosas es un “tanto especial” y eso lo transmito siempre en lo que hago. Mis joyas son poco convencionales, marcan un carácter propio a las personas que las llevan y no suelen pasar desapercibidas

P. ¿Qué le gusta más, la parte creativa o de diseño, o la parte puramente artesanal?

R. Las dos partes me gustan y además creo que es fundamental al conocer ambas. Mi disegno estarà condicionado por mi imaginación y por las limitaciones que me imponen las técnicas que pueden ser

aplicadas en cada caso concreto, y únicamente si las conozco y las domino podré alcanzar diseños buenos, no sólo sobre el papel sino también realizables«

Romi Bukovec creates jewellery in her own workshop in Medvode. Self-taught, she has obtained the knowledge necessary for her unique works from the masters of different professions, especially goldsmiths. What is characteristic of her work is the use of different materials and techniques, traditional as well as completely self-created and experimental. The jewelry of Romi Bukovec makes up different collections which differ in terms of design, expression, and the use of carefully and finely treated materials (metals, wood, artificial materials, stone etc). Throughout Canada, the United States, Asia, and Europe, Claudio Pino is renowned for his sculptural and kinetic rings. For the past two decades, the artist has devoted himself exclusively to the creation of one-of-a-kind pieces. In this solo exhibition, he presents more than 30 of these original creations, as he investigates “The Power of the Rings”.Inspired by the exploration of moving systems, of insect metamorphoses, and of the rhythm of urban life, his creations first come to life through his combinations of forms and colours. Pino is also passionate about gemstones, and is fascinated by their properties. He juxtaposes icy silvers with the warmth of gold, a peaceful emerald green with a flamboyant ruby red.
From conception to creation, each ring arouses anew in-depth research into the meeting place between elegance and innovation, while bridging the gap between historical and modern esthetics. Captivated by the profound relationship between jewels and their owners, Pino creates rings that are unquestionably comfortable, that “belong” to the hand. He has even added miniscule mechanisms to some of his pieces to ensure that the gems set in them will follow the flow of the wearer’s gesticulations.
His creations have enjoyed resounding success. He has won numerous awards and distinctions, including a special prize at the Cheongju International Craft Biennale, and the Metal Arts Guild of Canada’s Steel Trophy for Best Design 2009.
